My husband was never a boy scout. He would have been a great boy scout because he believes in being prepared. He thinks the worse case scenario and then worries and plans for it! Flood, earthquake, volcanic eruption, fire, we are insured. Zombie apocalypse, we’ve watched ‘The Walking Dead”!
Recently we have been eating food that was put away for the ‘big one’ because it has past dated. We are now restocking supplies. While I make a tiny bit of fun of my husband referring to his bomb shelter stockpiling, it is a good idea, a good New Year’s Resolution.
Being prepared for a disaster is smart. Here are a few recommendations:
Rain poncho/rain gear
Canned food and can opener
Cutlery, knives, plates and cups
Medications or at least copies of prescriptions
ID, passport, credit card
Pet Food, leashes or carrier
First aide kit
I hope never to have to use our ‘bomb shelter’ supplies for anything more than a power outage. It is comforting to know if “The Big One” does occur we are prepared!
Are you Doomsday prepared?
