Why is this a big deal you may or may not ask? It is a big deal because I spent the last several years being very hot. Sweaty hot. Suddenly hot. Uncomfortably hot. Dripping hot. Miserably hot.
My best example of being so miserably hot was when that I looked at my arms and actually saw gooseflesh as sweat dripped off my nose!
Ever wonder about waterproof makeup? It is a kind way of saying it is makeup you won’t sweat off. Waterproof mascara is not only good in case you cry but in case your sweat drips down your forehead and hits your lashes!
As a kid I remember getting cold easily. I would plead with my Mother to turn the heat up to 72 degrees. I wore socks to bed and was one of the first kids to buy a down sleeping bag for overnight camp. My parents did send me to the doctor fearing I had something wrong but nope, I just get cold easily.
Up until several years ago I knew which friends and family homes were too cold for me and dressed appropriately. I have been wearing many layers all my life! Now I have resurrected my wardrobe. I have turtlenecks, sweaters, wool socks, and cashmere-lined gloves that have not been worn in years.
My home’s thermostat is set at 73 degrees. For me, that is a very comfortable temperature. It is a bit warm for other people but… Years ago friends and family knew to leave their warm clothes at home when coming to my house. Perhaps I should send a mass email?
“Dear friends and family,
I get cold easily. You may have forgotten. You will not become cold when you visit my home so please dress appropriately. During winter months I will not open a window. If my home is too hot for you, I’ll see you in July or August when we can sit outdoors. XX00 Haralee”
Are you a hotty or a cold one?
